  Abstract:
  We are in an age where consumer is the king and as a natural consequence of this phenomenon, umpteen numbers of players are flooding the market with their consumer durables. At the same time Indian consumers profile characterised by variety on account of their culture and social background. Their needs and wants are constantly changing. This accompanied by exposure to Western ways of the life has resulted in the rapid westernisation of Indian consumers. The consumers’ requirements have multiplied in the present era which demands the marketers to plough in new ideas. The number of choices for a consumer has increased making it crucial for the consumers to take a decision in purchasing the right type of specialty goods.

  Title of the Thesis: “Trends and Prospects of Retail Business- A Study with Special Reference to Reliance Fresh.” Abstract:
  India’s retail market has been evolving with time and is today considered to be at the point of revolution. The latest in the retail scene is the entry of large-scale Indian organizations and multinationals.   Domestic major retail players have announced aggressive expansion plans and a number of multinational retail chains are making their entry through various routes. This competition is bringing in new innovative strategies to grab the maximum amount of potential consumers. The research discusses the major developments taking place in the organized retailing sector specifically in Bangalore. The various initiatives discussed are those in the area of assortment and variety of products, retail formats and location, localization, home delivery,  private label and designing of store layout and lastly but the most important factor is the promotion. Retail outlets are a win-win situation for both consumer and producer. The retail industry in India is clearly at a take-off stage. In order to realize their ambitious projections, retailers will need to utilize all possible opportunities for innovation in serving the Indian consumer.

  Title of the Thesis: “Marketing strategies applied by banks to foster financing of small and medium enterprises run by women entrepreneurs-An empirical study”
   Abstract:
  The economic potential of female entrepreneurs is not being realized as they suffer from a lack of access to capital, land, business premises, information technology, training and agency assistance. The Reserve Bank of India has issued number of guideline / instructions directives to banks in regard to matters relating to lending to Micro, Small & medium enterprises sector. RBI ensures time and smooth flow of credit to such enterprises, to minimize the incidence of sickness among them.
  The research suggests that in order to foster development, multi-agencies co-operation is required. The media, education policy makers and government agencies could combine to provide women with improved access to business development services and facilities local, regional and national networks. This would help integration of women entrepreneurs into the main stream economy.
  This study reveals that access to finance is still a major limiting factor for SMEs because banks generally perceive there as high risk and unprofitable and not necessarily riskier than lending to large enterprises or public sector units.
   On the basis of the study we can conclude that by developing the right strategies for marketing, selecting the most suitable communication option and measuring the performance are vital for the success of any organization engaged in SME financing activity.
