IQAC Functions
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru, recommends the establishment of an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in accredited higher education institutions as an essential mechanism for sustaining and enhancing institutional quality. The IQAC serves as a key institutional framework for ensuring continuous improvement in academic, administrative, and overall institutional performance.
In accordance with the guidelines of NAAC, Jyoti Nivas College established its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in 2014. Since its inception, the IQAC has played an integral role in promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the institution.
Recognising that quality enhancement is an ongoing and dynamic process, the IQAC works systematically to strengthen and sustain quality initiatives across various dimensions of institutional functioning. Its major responsibility is to facilitate conscious, consistent, and catalytic efforts towards enhancing the overall performance of the institution.
The IQAC also plays a vital role in the post-accreditation period by coordinating and monitoring quality-related initiatives, encouraging innovative practices, and promoting institutional excellence. Through its various activities and initiatives, the IQAC strives to advance the institution's commitment to holistic academic excellence, effective administration, and the continuous enhancement of quality standards.
Primary Objectives of the IQAC
- To establish a systematic mechanism for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action towards improving the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
- To promote a culture of quality by encouraging the internalisation of quality practices across all areas of institutional functioning.
- To facilitate the institutionalisation of best practices for continuous quality enhancement and sustainable development.
- To support and coordinate initiatives aimed at strengthening academic excellence, administrative efficiency, and overall institutional effectiveness.

Objectives

- To conduct periodic Academic and Administrative Audits (AAA) to assess institutional and departmental performance.
- To ensure the optimum utilisation of institutional resources, skills, and opportunities for quality enhancement.
- To collect, analyse, and utilise stakeholder feedback for continuous improvement.
- To organise regular capacity-building and professional development programmes for faculty and staff.
