Alumni reunion is always a reason to rejoice as it gives an opportunity for the students to return to their alma mater and reminisce their days in the college, meet their teachers, reconnect with friends and appreciate the strides taken by the institution.

Objectives :
• To arrange the annual Alumni meet that provides a platform for all old students to meet, reconnect and renew the memories of their stay at Jyoti Nivas College.
• To provide financial support to the needy and deserving students of the college.
• To confer awards and seholarships to motivate and encourage high achievers from Arts, Science and Commerce streams both in the fields of academics and sports.
• To become sensitive to the various social and environmental issues.
• To enhance alumni-institute interaction.
• To provide medical aid to AIDS/HIV Positive patients, especially girls of lower socio-economic status.
• To foster better relationship between the present and past students by arranging for outdoor activities like basket ball and throw ball matches.

SARAHS HARDWORK RESULTS IN ACHIEVING A LAW DEGREE, THE FIRST EVER HEARING -IMPAIRED
ADVOCATE IN INDIA. Sarah in Hebrew means Princess. And here is one of the twins, a girl from Kottayam, Kerala achieved
the great success of being the first Hearing Impaired Advocate in India. Parents being her constant
support helped her to overcome the difficulties in the past to make the present achievement
happen.
Sara is the daughter of Mr. Sunny and Mrs.Betty. Being devoted to God with a great Self-Confidence
and constant prayer Sarah now became the shining star of India.
From Early Childhood, unlike all her siblings she was very active and constantly asking doubts and
took part in every discussion and debate, which gave her parents an idea about her future as an
advocate. Following that, her continuous hard work and devotion assisted her to attain her dream.
Sarah did her schoolings in Cluny Convent School and St.Claret. Followed by her Bachelor’s degree in
Commerce from Jyoti Nivas College, Autonomous.
The main intention for Sarah to become an advocate was not only her passion for the profession but
also to be a role model and encouragement for those who are like her. She did her Specialisation in
Constitutional Law, Disability Law, Human Rights Law thus having a thorough plan to accomplish her
passion. She wishes to support the hearing impaired. The frequent question she encountered was
how to express her views in the court, to which she answered with confidence that she would do so
with the assistance of an interpreter. This is evidence of her strong desire for success.
Being an outstanding student, she scored excellent results in all her academics that paved an easy
entry to StJoseph Institution Law College. She completed her exams on February 2021. Further
enrolled herself on Karnataka Bar Council. She is presently practicing in Centre for Law and Policy
Research Institution.
Sara was the one among the three girls who were invited to the Deaf Women Achievers program.
Sarah also showed her talent in Arts as well as in Sports. Her mother Betty taught her children to
perform various dance forms too.
Her parents stated that quality living and a positive approach in all difficulties helped them
overcome all obstacles and to achieve this great success story of Sarah.
