Objectives
The broad objective of the tourism papers offered under B.A./ B.Com Tourism and Travel Management Course is to impart professional education and training in different aspects of management of modern tourism at the under graduate level and provide them with opportunities to develop skills needed to join the tourism industry.The Department of Tourism and Travel Management recognizes the necessities of global Tourism Industry, in order to accomplish the same there certain objectives are identified by the department to formulate the curriculum of the course to match the above needs and requirements. The several of objectives of the department are follows:

• To provide an awareness regarding economic, social and cultural conditions of various destinations and the need to develop them as a self- reliant economic resource.

Two days students National Workshop on Internship Training was conducted by the department. It is part of celebrating 75 Years of Indian Independence on the theme “Public Sector in Skill Enhancement of Tourism Students: Prospects and Challenges of Internship Training.” The workshop was conducted for a span of two days from 1st September 2021 to 2nd September 2021.
Ms. Gopi Vishrolia, the Karnataka Operational Head of Gujarat Tourism Corporation, was the speaker of the day. She began her talk about Gujarat Tourism which is a State Tourism Board and its many branches across India. She further explained the contributions of Gujarat Tourism in educating people especially students about tourism. She also emphasized that tourism is all about exchanging culture and being a helpful hand in promoting about the culture of different places and meeting people, understanding different mind-set of the people and to educate other and oneself.
Moving on to the main focus of the webinars, Ms. Gopi elucidated about the internship at their organisation and the interns who do their tasks with best ability. She emphasized that it is not just about earning from internship but about gaining the work experience and hard work. She mentioned that internship is not just about studying but about gaining practical knowledge. She further explained about the internship for youth in their organization and how the interns are trained and the intern are well trained to learn how to handle finance and account, how to do marketing promotion etc.
