Programme Details:
The PG Department of Psychology offers a two-year, full-time programme in MSc Psychology designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to apply psychological concepts, theories, and principles in clinical, counselling, organisational-industrial, and research settings. This programme is ideal for students seeking expertise in one of these specialisations of psychology.
Structured over four semesters, the programme provides a comprehensive learning experience. The first two semesters introduce students to fundamental psychological concepts, theories, processes, and research findings, laying a strong foundation in the discipline. In semesters three and four, the focus shifts to applied psychology, covering specialised fields such as Clinical, Counselling, Developmental, and Industrial Psychology.
Students are encouraged to engage in research, internships, and skill development during the second, third, and fourth semesters, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in their areas of interest. The programme also prepares students for competitive examinations conducted by UGC, NTA, ICSSR, and various State and Central Civil Services Boards, enhancing their academic and professional prospects.
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
● Applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree with Psychology as one of the core subjects, securing a minimum overall aggregate of 50% (and 55% in Psychology) from a university recognized by the UGC (India or abroad).
● Candidates currently in the final year of their undergraduate programmes must have a minimum aggregate of 55% across all completed semesters.
