Highlights / Summary:
The Byte O Bit event, organized by the IT Club of the Computer Science (PG) department,
was a heart-warming gathering on August 5th, 2023, bringing together second and fourth
semester MCA students and faculty members. The first-year MCA students exhibited
remarkable dedication and enthusiasm in organizing the event, forming a meticulous
committee to ensure seamless planning and execution.
The event aimed to celebrate the bond between the two groups, expressing appreciation
for the seniors' guidance and support throughout their college journey while fostering
meaningful interactions and learning experiences. Guiding the event as the Master of
Ceremonies, Shanthi Sophia, a dynamic 1st-year MCA student, set the tone. Our esteemed
Director, Sr. Dr. Lalitha Thomas, addressed the audience, inspiring and igniting
determination toward personal goals.
The event featured an array of interactive games and team-building activities, uniting
juniors and seniors in friendly competitions. Participants engaged in decoding emoji riddles,
lively rounds of dumb charades, identifying melodies, and even constructing pyramids
through successful bottle flips, all of which highlighted their creativity and enthusiasm.
The day was filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful connections, fostering unity among
students. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Akshitha C R. In
essence, the Byte O Bit event successfully celebrated student camaraderie, gratitude, and

ALUMNI INTERACTION
During the 3rd Semester of MCA, students are expected to work on a Mini project. This being a web application, we were supposed to write restful APIs which would connect the front end and the back end. Since this was something entirely new for us, the department organized an interactive session with our alumni Nikhila and Sudeshna (2018-21 batch) who took time to explain to us what a restful API is, the different CRUD operations that can be performed using restful APIs and how we were supposed to code them, store them, connect them to the database, connect them to the front end and also how to ensure our credentials is safe when we upload this file onto git repository.
We also got an opportunity to gain knowledge from Shivavarshini (2018-21 batch) while working on our Android project. She helped us out with connecting the applications built on two different environments (unity and android) and also helped us whenever we got stuck at any point.
