Mr. Suresh Raghavendra who is a well-rounded and blended HR & Law professional. Mr. Suresh has over 25 years of experience in Human Resource Management and Legal Functions in various corporate sectors and industry including Manufacturing, FMCG, Telecom IT and ITe companies. He briefed about the different acts such as Industrial Dispute Act, Minimum Wages Act, ESI Act, Gratuity Act etc. and the reasons behind their existence. He emphasized on the concept of Make in India and on a positive note of seeing India as a manufacturing hub in the future years.

The Resource person for the Guest Lecture was Mr. Ranjan Jena, Founder & CEO eMarket Education, Digital Marketing Training Institute. Mr. Ranjan has over 14 + years of experience in Digital Marketing with core specialisation in PPC Google AdWords, SEP, Facebook Marketing, Blogging, Video Marketing and is also a Google Certified Professional. The session consisted of approximately 40 participants. The session helped the students understand the role and impact of social media marketing especially on Facebook.

Objectives:

  • To familiarize the students with the concept and importance of mindfulness.
  • To motivate the students to make the best use of the time and opportunities available by stepping out of their comfort zones.
  • To help the students understand the art of gratitude and communication.
Dr Ushy Mohan Das was the Resource person for the session who has over 40 years of wisdom. Dr. Ushy is a Leadership Coach, Author, Columnist, Academician and tongue Fu Master. The webinar consisted of approximately 160 participants from Post Graduate Centre. The session covered the various aspects required for creating a better self. This session helped the students in understanding their mindsets and better plan and proceed with their goals.


Webinar on “Ways of effective wealth creation”

Objectives:

  • To create awareness among the students about the importance of investment and saving.
  • To help them understand the ways of investment especially with regard to Mutual Funds.
  • To help them know the different career opportunities in the area of Mutual Funds.
The resource person for the webinar was Dr. VirendraTatake. The session created an awareness among the students with respect to the importance of investments which is very necessary for their financial success. The tips and the insights shared by the resource person helped the participants understand the different sources or ways in which they could invest and get good returns. The participants also got to know about Mutual Funds in detail and also the different career opportunities available to the students in that field.


Webinar on “Inspiring Young Minds: Leading By Example”

  • To help the students understand their role and responsibility towards the society we live in.
  • To motivate them to serve the needy and less privileged through the experiences of the resource person who has a passion for serving the humanity.
The resource person for the webinar was Prof. Samuel Johnson and it was conducted for a duration of 2 hours on a virtual platform, Zoom with approximately 150 participants from MBA, M.Com(FA), MA, MCA and MSc departments. Overall, the session motivated the students to do something to the society. It made them realise the impact that each one of them could have on somebody’s life by serving or helping.


Webinar on “Capital Market Awareness”

The main objective of the programme was to make young investors more aware about the Capital Market in order to facilitate their investing activities and participation with awareness and information.The resource person was Mr Ashok Kumar, Founder-Promoter, Lotus knowledge wealth.The key takeaway of the programme is that wealth creation is a time bound process. The speaker emphasised on being smart investors by saving tax. He summarised the asset classes which is an important learning for aspiring investors.


Webinar on “Business implications of Covid-19”
25th July 2020

Department of MBA organized a guest lecture on ‘Business implications of Covid 19’ by Mr. Vijay Kumar C, Product Manager-GS (South Asia) Bühler Group. He discussed about positiveness in negative situation and the significance of sustainability in business. He made the session lively by playing videos, and the students also asked questions at the end of the session.

Department of MBA organised a virtual guest lecture on 23/7/2020 on ‘Campus to Corporate. The resource person for the lecture was Mr. Sreekanth B S, HR manager, Bühler. Through his presentation, he had enriched the students on corporate expectations, skills necessary to achieve success, the expectation performance gap and removed the misconceptions of students on the corporate world. With storytelling, he made the session interesting and meaningful.

The coronavirus outbreak has left many students feeling frightened and worried about their futures. Therefore, in order to support and guide them during such unpredictable times, the department of MBA organized a webinar on ‘Mentoring and Networking during Pandemic’ on 1st June 2020. The speaker for the session was Dr Samuel Johnson K. He encouraged students to always be surrounded by people who they look up to and inspired them to always run behind the quality and not quantity.
