Day 1: Building stakeholder Equity with Blockchain by Dr. Joseph Shields is a Growth strategist and Transformation specialist
He discussed about the crisis the world is facing and the future change blockchain would bring to the new generation run by blockchain based system. He gave insights on the benefits of blockchain such as revenue creation, cost reduction and consumer impact. Blockchain has the potential to drive the triple bottom line that includes people, planet and profit which all of these three has similarity that is the sustainability. The session was interactive, participants were constantly involved through menti.com and the session ended with a Q&A session.
Day 2-4: Construction of Blocks & Chains, Mining, Smart Contracts

Day 2 session contributed diverse idea about how the blockchain is evolving in many fields around the world. The huge weight it has made during this pandemic to why it is so important for the digital world. How much it gives more security for every aspects of the current situation we are in and about the digital transformation like IOT and Artificial Intelligence. The challenges the customer face for sharing their data privacy that may be misused and how blockchain talks about removing the intermediary the role that is in between. How blockchain is fitting into every corner of the application in all the fields and is important because it promotes transparency and tamper resistant.
Day 3 session gave us more grip about mining and smart contracts. The topics covered include network view on how a transaction is validated by showing the transaction flow, how a distributed network is run with light node, full node, and miner/validator node and the security mechanisms in the blockchain that has checksums, encryption, and digital signature. Most importantly we learned about the Merkle root in cryptographic functions how nonce is used to generate, then different consensus Algorithm and lastly about wallets. The session gave us a positive and logic perception of blockchain technology.
Day 4: Through today’s session focused on smart contracts, its possibilities and limitations. The video on the blockchain summary gave us deeper idea about how blockchain works. A demo of the working of smart contract for a voting application was extremely to understand the know-how of implementing smart contracts. We learn he world of possibilities in blockchain such as digital identity, tax records, banking and IOT. How blockchain plays role in healthcare and life sciences and we learn the benefits and driving change of blockchain.
Day 5: The newer possibilities and opportunities of Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and IOT by Mr. Dr. Pethuru Raj, Chief Architect at Reliance JIO platforms Ltd. Bangalore.
On the final session of the 5 day FDP, the resource person Dr. Pethuru gave us more information and idea about how these new technologies blockchain, IOT, and AI has on the digitalized world. How bringing up more use of these technologies would bring about a better change. For medical purposes, sensors are used during this covid19. Use of multiple internets like devices, computers, services and things. The examples he used to differentiate between AI, Machine learning programming, Traditional programming gave a wider path to understand the concepts more in a practical way and we learned why 5G is important and countries working on it. The example of human he concluded with was the best part.
Outcome: These 5 days session was indeed helpful and interesting. We are grateful to our Director and the Department faculty for giving us this opportunity to interact and understand new better things about the blockchain technology and making this learning platform possible during this pandemic.
