Vision:
Committed o provide excellence in the field of Commerce and Management education to mould the students for a holistic development.

Mission:
a. To impart quality education to enhance employability with relevant skills making the students industry ready and both domestic and global platforms.
b. To inculcate the use of ICT in the teaching a learning process.
c. To inspire and empower the students to become innovative leaders and entrepreneurs through curricular and co-curricular activities.

The Department of Commerce and Management, was established in the year 1978 initially offering Pre-University Course in Commerce. The Bachelors course in Commerce started in 1980. Since then, the department has steadily grown and achieved several milestones, with all the activities of the department being carried out under the banner of "The House of Commerce and Management". The department has 26 highly qualified, knowledgeable and friendly faculty members..

The department offers 3 sections of B. Com, and one section each of B. Com TM, B. Com LSM, B.B.A. and B.Voc. (Banking & Finance) courses. There are related short-term and certificate programmes as well. It has a well-established Business Lab with State-Of-The-Art facilities. 1385 students are enrolled for Commerce programmes.

Along side the regular class and course activities, various intra – class, inter-class and inter – collegiate activities enable the students to improve their skills. The department regularly organises workshops and seminars to help students to update their knowledge regarding the latest developments in the field of Commerce, Management, Banking and Finance.

At the undergraduate level itself the students are initiated into data collection and research. Case study method, role - play, student presentations are different methodologies used to make the class room session lively and inter –active. Students are encouraged to go through observational studies, field visits and internships to optimise their class room learning. The syllabus is continuously updated keeping in mind the changes and development in the knowledge growth happening all around. Board of Studies are organised for this purpose.

Objectives To impart quality education in the field of commerce to young women who wish to foray into commercial ventures. The current globalised scenario has opened up many opportunities. Business and commerce are dynamic and exciting fields of study with practical applications. A good understanding of business and commerce related subjects are essential for those who wish to be a part of the business and industry.

The specific objectives of the programmes are:

1.To develop skills and knowledge on a sound foundation of commercial activities in today's world.

2.To develop analytical skills and knowledge pertaining to practical financial and cost accounting systems which are both traditional and computer based.

3. To gain knowledge of the taxation system prevalent and to be aware of the obligations of citizens in their respective fields of business with the least amount of risks and maximizing protection of the operations.

4. To enhance good business communication skills to further activities in the growing world of opportunity to access markets.

5. To prepare students for the emerging e-commerce trends in global market.

Distinct Pedagogy :
Classroom lecture, problem solving, tutorials classes, case studies, group discussion, seminar and field work.

Features:
All the faculty members of the commerce and management department are a part of a specific course Community of Practice COP) to discuss and impart to students unified delivery of topics and lasts developments in the relevant domain.

Infrastructure:
a. Business lab equipped with 100 computers.
b. Department library
c. Classrooms with projector and smart board installed.

Placements:
85% of the students of Commerce and Management are placed in various companies and financial institutions like KPMG, Delloite, EY, GS, Standard Chartered etc.

Internships and Testimony:
BVOC Banking and Finance student undergo internship programme in financial institutions for 1 month as a part of their academic curriculum.
