Activities for year 2016-17

Jyoti Mahila Samithi ( women cell) of Jyoti Nivas College took an initiative to sensitize the students about population growth and empowering the women through associating with YWCA (young women's Christian association ) ngo, organized a talk for the students on 11 of July 20, 2016.

YWCA- young women Christian association was started in UK for young women in the year 1855 in Bangalore with the association of two women they started the branch of YWCA in the year 1965 .

The Theme of National Convention 2014 was (rise and respond) through which they touched the lives of 270 children, 36 women with Computer Coaching , free Education , Free Mid Day Meals and Day Care Centers for the children's was started.

Other programme started a Kannada Medium School till fifth standard for the Slum children, Computer Coaching, Communicative English, Skill Training Programme for the Women to develop Empowerment and the Leadership qualities.

On the occasion of World's Population day , YWCA created an awareness among the students about the Over Growth of population, the World Population Day was started on 11 july 1987 , it became very popular in China , India , United States , Indonesia ,Brazil etc., in particular India is having 1.33 billion population took up an initiative to reduce the growth, they started the programmer like Focus on Adolescence Pregnancy- 2013 , A time to reflect on population trends and related issues -2014 ,Investing in teenage girls -2016 .
