The ECELL started the academic year with the manufacture and sale of eco-friendly cloth bags. Also note books made from unanswered booklets were sold to the new batch of students. Every Friday, there is a sale of products from the JNC Green Store, which also provides a platform for budding entrepreneurs to exhibit and sell their products. On August 9-10, 2016, coinciding with the national seminar of the Social Sciences Forum, the JNC ECELL organized a sale and exhibition of products made by women entrepreneurs, in collaboration with AWAKE, Bengaluru. On December 3, 2016, the club organized a talk by Dr. Pratibha on 'Bonsai as an entrepreneurial activity'. It was an interesting talk to motivate students to take up Bonsai as a profitable business venture. The students of JNC ECELL - Mamta, Alankritha, Ayesha, Vanessa and Natasha took part in a State level competition, 'Social Entrepreneurship Challenge' conducted by the Government of Karnataka. It ranked 13th among 52 colleges that participated in the competition.
