Alumni Activities 2017 - 18

The annual Alumni meet for the year 2017 was held at Jyoti Nivas College Autonomous auditorium on 8 of July, 2017. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp led by Dr. Sr. Elizabeth and guests, accompanied by the college choir.

Sr. Rosily K J invoked God's presence to preside over the program which was followed by a welcome address by Mrs. Roshni Shetty to all present.

The college Indian dance team Advaya performed an enthralling piece titled 'Yatra', which preceded the Annual Report of the activities of the Alumni Association by Miss Naureen. Dr. Sr. Elizabeth, Principal of Jyoti Nivas College, welcomed those present; both retired staff and students. A JNCite herself, she too shared the joy of experiencing a sense of belonging with all those who were in attendance. She stressed on the importance of "Time and distance, to get a better perspective of things." Sr Elizabeth ended her message with an encourgement for all those present to be an Ambassador of the college and a short video on the many achievements of JNC. In retrospection of the years gone by, the college choir performed a medley of old songs by the group, ABBA.

For her 25years of service in shaping the minds of young women, Dr. Sr. Elizabeth was felicitated by the retired staff and JNC Alumni faculty led by Dr. Sitavi Yathiender for the APJ Abdul Kalam award and the Best Principal Award for 2016. The gathering was then led down memory lane through fun and games to break the ice which was conducted by Ivy, Alumni of JNC; CEO of Clockwork..

The event came to a crucial point where Dr. Shantha and Dr. Grace Thomas, presided over the Alumni interaction which produced much need feedback and suggestions to create a much more effective and connected Alumni Association. Scholarships, guests lectures and outreach programmes were suggested. The event came to a close with the College anthem followed by the guests heading for lunch and a group photograph.
