Inauguration of the activities of 2016-17 and orientation programme of JNC AICUF unit

The Inauguration of the activities of the year 2016-17 as well as the orientation programme for the members of the AICUF unit was held on 4th august 2016 . The chief guest was the well known psychiatrist, social worker and entrepreneur Dr. Mohan Sunil. His inspiring and motivational speech highlighting the need to be sensitive to the social concerns was truly an eye opener to the youth. The programme started with invocation song and prayer invoking almighty's blessings. Another highlight of the programme was the official induction and introduction of the office bearers of the AICUF union 2016-17 consisting of

REPORT OF THE OUTREACH PROGRAMME - TO ST.CHAVARA KRUPALAYA ON 15.07.16

It was a wonderful opportunity to be a part of serving the elderly people of the reputed old age home St.Chavara Krupalaya as volunteers.



It was a heart touching experience to interact and sharing their experience. It was a great moral support for the inmates when the students were around them making a cheerful environment. The members helped in serving food and conducted small entertainment programmes.

Report
Day 1:-
We began the two days program with a meaningful Eucharistic celebration highlighting the theme of the meeting "Challenge the intolerance and become agent of reconciliation". Then we had the official inauguration by Fr. Victor Lobo and Fr. Brian followed by the session by Mr. Prasanth Luho focused on our role as on AICUF in the construction of our society.



In the afternoon we had the presentation of the reports from different units.


In the second session we had Akkai (transgender)


Who spoke about the injustice in the society challenged by each one of us to build an equal society.

Day 2:-
We began the day with prayer and worship, after which quiz was conducted based on the history of AICUF. Then Mr.Babu Mathew was talking about the Indian constitution. In the afternoon the election for state AICUF Union took place, Irene sneha and Sussan steffi Charles contested for Vice-President post and National team member post respectively and became the extended union in state councel





It was really great experience knowing more people and also getting better knowledge about AICUF and learning more about how to be a better Aicufer in the society

Report of the celebration of the life and work of St. Mother Tresa at St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral, Bangalore On 11th September 2016,Missionaries of charity along with People Function organised a day - long event to celebrate the life and work of St. Mother Tresa at St.Francis Xavier's Cathedral's church,in relation to her canonisation which elevated her position to sainthood on 4th September. The event started with a grand holy mass by our Bishop followed by flag hoisting of Saint mother Teresa of Calcutta and a cultural extravaganza portraying the life history of the mother. The honourable chief minister of Karnataka shri Siddaramiah was the esteemed chief guest.  At this momentous occasion on 11th evening JNC AICUF members were a part of the great cultural extravaganza where,around 20 students from jyoti nivas college autonomous had performed two dance forms in Bengali portraying the mission of Mother which ended as a grand success.

The outreach programmeto Ashwas was yet another experience for the students where we had got a chance to prepare and serve food for the needy. Ashwas is a charitable trust where the needy are served food in the afternoon, it is managed by the CMI fathers and the incharge is Rev.Dr.Fr.John Marius. They also visited Augustine nivas , a home for the aged.

EnableIndia is an NGO working for the empowerment of the Blind. JNC AICUF volunteers help the association to make tactile designs for computers which help the visually impaired people to become computer experts . Being the golden jubilee year 50 computers are equipped with the tactile designs.

Volunteers visits Gerizim , a home for the differently abled children. They spend time in teaching the children various skills and also help in the home work. AICUF also celebrated X, mas with these kids. According to the students it was a great experience .

Epipheny celebrations was done in the auditorium on 10th January 2017. The five specially abled and under privileged group from Bosco mane, Bosco Rainbow , Jyoti seva institute for blind, Gerizim centre for disabled and St.Josephs school Summanahalli for children of leprosy patients have done wonderful performance for the JNC family. Dr. Sr. Elizabeth gifted them with cheques (contribution for their welfare programme). The participants and the AICUF members had a fellow ship lunch.
